BRETT MERRIMAN

A Chartered Accountant (CPA,CA) by trade, Brett is CEO of TryCycle Data Systems, a digital mental health company with a strong focus on Indigenous populations. TryCycle is the developer of the Talking Stick app, focusing on anonymous chat with Indigenous peers, which is deployed in Saskatchewan and has over 50,000 unique users. TryCycle has taken the leap into mobile games with an youth focus Indigenous game called Buddy’s Quest, which measures risk (Bullying, Substance Use, Self-harm, Abuse, Gender Identity) in a community by youth playing the game.

Brett was recently awarded the Ottawa Board of Trade 40 under 40 award, and has been CEO during TryCycle winning Deloitte Tech Fast 50, Deloitte Companies to Watch, and Ottawa Business Journal Fastest Growing Companies (2^nd, 3^rd, 8^th place).

When not in the office, Brett enjoys getting out in nature with his family and coaching his boys sports teams in Ottawa.
